EMPAC hosts SEBP Conference 2017

Hosted by EMPAC, the SEBP’s sixth annual conference followed the theme ‘Creating a culture of curiosity: Why failure is a good thing’ and was attended by a sold-out delegation of over 200 key figures from the world of policing and academia.

The event provided an opportunity to advance shared objectives of embedding the use of evidence in police practice, and growing the skills and confidence of police practitioners in conducting and contributing to the evidence base.

Dr John Coxhead, of EMPAC, said, “it’s been great organising this conference which I think is the best SEBP have had so far. The turn out has been fantastic, the venue great and the variety of speakers and break-out sessions really impressive.”

Dave Thompson, Chief Constable of West Midlands Police, Alex Murray, Assistant Chief Constable of West Midlands Police and Rachel Tuffin, Director of Knowledge, Research and Education at the College of Policing, gave us their views on the event on camera.
