The East Midlands Policing Academic Collaboration (EMPAC) has been successful in its bid for funding from the College of Policing (COP) and the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).
The research leads for the five networks that make up EMPAC have met and agreed the areas of policing to be researched and projects that will be undertaken by each network.
EMPAC is made up of seven universities, five police forces and five police and crime commissioners from across the East Midlands:

EMPAC will deliver:
– 20 research projects
– 10 fellowships
– 20 events, including 2 annual conferences and 18 workshops/seminars/training courses
– A ‘Knowledge Hub’: an online resource for both policing and academic colleagues to share information and ideas
