Dr Jade Lynne Farrell, Senior Consultant at Cordis Bright, on behalf of the Youth Endowment Fund (YEF), is currently running a short survey on is Reducing children’s involvement in violence.
This includes hearing from frontline officers, senior leaders and civilian staff analysts/researchers.
To share your views, there is a 10-minute survey, see here: https://www.smartsurvey.co.uk/s/reducing_childrens_involvement_in_violence/
Why?
Your input will help us to understand:
· What initiatives forces are using to reduce children being involved in violence.
· How these approaches are reaching and supporting children from Black and other minority ethnic communities.
· What shapes decisions about which initiatives are chosen and how they are delivered.
· What could change locally and nationally, to make effective initiatives more consistently.
How you can help
In addition to completing the survey yourself, you can help to encourage staff across ranks and departments/units to complete the survey.
This might work well during morning briefings, via email, and force meetings. The survey will take around 10 minutes to complete and the deadline for completion is Monday 17th November.
The responses from across ranks and a range of forces in England and Wales will help understanding any enablers and barriers the staff face to further strengthen their work in reducing children’s involvement in violence.
More information
The Youth Endowment Fund have commissioned Cordis Bright to look at how police forces are helping prevent children becoming involved in violence. Cordis Bright is an independent research company, and the College of Policing are supporting the dissemination of this survey.
