EMPAC is pleased to announce the launch of the 2021 College of Policing Bursary Scheme.
Thinking about higher education study? The College of Policing bursary scheme provides financial support to police officers and staff studying at higher education level.
Undertaking research as part of your continuing learning and development can provide insight into real-world policing issues and help officers and staff across the service make decisions based on the best available evidence.
To apply for a bursary you must be currently serving as a police officer or member of staff in a police force in England and Wales, or a National Crime Agency employee, and your course needs to include a research component.
Applications are welcome from all ranks and roles. To date, the College has awarded over 270 bursaries to recipients across 44 forces. Six out of ten of those awarded funding were constable and sergeant rank and around a quarter were to members of police staff. You do not need to have previous experience of higher education study to apply for a bursary.
The College bursary scheme will open on 8 March 2021. Find out more about the scheme and how to apply on the College What Works website.
